Person-centered therapy, also known as client-centered therapy, is a core approach in my counseling. Developed by Carl Rogers, this humanistic therapy focuses on the belief that individuals have the capacity for self-awareness and the ability to make positive changes in their lives. In person-centered therapy, the therapist provides a supportive and non-judgmental environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences freely. The therapist is a facilitator, guiding the client towards greater self-understanding and personal growth. This approach emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness, allowing clients to develop a stronger sense of self and make meaningful changes in their lives based on their own values and beliefs.
